CREATING A MINI JOURNAL USING UP DSP

So the last set of videos were all about using up those last pieces of DSP and scraps to create a Mini Journal.

Because you are using up scraps it is difficult to make a material list, so Ive added a few items I have mentioned in the videos. Remember that some of these items are being discontinued at the very beginning of June 2019. So you may need to act quickly if you wish to place an order.

INSTRUCTIONS AND MEASUREMENTS

1 - Set yourself up to get a production line going ;)

Open each piece out flat on one pile.

3 - From the DSP Floral Romance sheet cut a 3 3/4" strip. Turn it and cut 4 pieces measuring 2 3/4".
Corner round and ink up these if you wish.

4 - Cut the A4 papers to 5 1/2" x 3 3/4" (3 sheets cut to these measurements makes enough pages for
two notebooks) Fold each of the pages in half. Corner round the pages. Stack 6 of these pages
ontop of each other to make your booklet.

5 - Lay the pages on top of the inside of the cover and hold in position with binder clips of
paperclips making sure the fold lines of the pages line up with the fold line of the cover.

7 - With strong thread ( not sewing cotton) sew all the layers together as shown in the video
      ( link below).

9 - Lay some ribbon across the front and wrap around to the back. Hold in position with a dot of
glue. Punch a Scalloped Circle and ink the edges. Attach to the centre of the ribbon which will
help to secure the ribbon in place. Decorate with both DSP and Vellum Butterflies. Add Flat
Back Pearls to the Butterfly bodies.

10 - Tie the ends of the ribbons into a pretty bow and voila!! complete :)

INSTRUCTIONS AND MEASUREMENTS

1 - Cut an 8" square from the Designer Series Paper and make up the folded box as shown in the
video on my YT channel sewcarol. The link is below. Cut a semi circle from the front of the box.

2 - From the plain card, that coordinates with your DSP, cut 1 piece measuring 3 1/8" x 7 1/2". Score at the following measurements 3"and 4 3/8" and burnish the folds well.

3 - Put glue on the base of the box and adhere to the 3" section of the cover towards the back right
next to the first score line. Then place glue on the back of the box and lift the cover up along
the back so it is adhered to the back of the box.

4 - Cut a small length of ribbon and add a charm. Loop the ribbon and adhere to the inside lid of the
box approx 1/2" away from the edge of the cover. Next cut a length of ribbon and adhere one
end to the inside of the box in about the middle. Punch a circle 1" from the same DSP as you
made the box and adhere to the top of the ribbon to ''hide'' it.

5 - Cut the mats using the DSP as follows:
      Cover Lid - cut 2 - 3" x 3"
      Cover Back - Cut 1 - 3" x 1 /4"
Round the corners and ink the edges as required.
Adhere the mats to the cover.

6 - Stamp a sentiment and punch the label for the top of the cover. Punch some small butterflies from
the plan card and then some from the DSP. Adhere the label to the top of the box and then the
plain butterflies on top. Ben the patterned papers slightly and add them on top of the plain ones.
Attach some gems to the bodies of the butterflies.

7 - Cut the note papers to measure 2 5/8" square.

8 - For the larger box without the cover use a 12" x 12" DSP and follow the video to make the box.

9 - Cut a plinth from complimenting plain card 4 5/8" square.

10 - Place glue to the base of the box and attach the plinth.

11 - Next cut a length of ribbon and adhere one end to the inside of the box in about the middle.
Punch a circle 1" from the same DSP as you made the box and adhere to the top of the ribbon
       to ''hide'' it.

12 - Wrap a ribbon around the outer sides of the box. Adhere the two loose ends at the middle front
of the box, overlapping slightly. Make a bow from the same ribbon and adhere on top of the
       overlapping ribbon ends.

13 - Cut the note papers to measure 4" square.
